What does Health Insurance for IVF Cover ?

Monday, October 29, 2012
Deciding to do IVF can be a pretty pricy decision. Depending on the clinic you go to an IVF can cost up to about $9,000 per cycle * Not including medication, office visits and any additional cycles needed* . Health Insurance Coverage for IVF is recommended to keep the cost down for you and your family.

What does Health Insurance for IVF Cover ? The average Health Provider covers ...
  • Clinic Visits
  • Sonograms
  • IVF Procedure
  • IUI Procure
  • Medications

States with some kind of infertility coverage mandate - as of 2008
Arkansas
Illinois
Montana
Rhode Island
California
Louisiana
New Jersey
Texas
Connecticut
Maryland
New York
West Virginia
Hawaii
Massachusetts
Ohio

As you may already know I exhausted my Current Health Insurance on 3 IUIs and today is the day I switch to another health provider that my job offers. If everything goes correctly by January 1 I will have the coverage I need to go straight to an IVF. If you live in one of the states above and you exhausted your current health insurance, see if your company have another choice you can switch to at the end of the year. We have the right to change our Job's health plan if we decide to. If you live in the NEW YORK CITY area then Re- enrollment time is NOW ! So get involved and ask around, if you can switch then do so in order for you to have more chances to have a baby .

Try a different clinic, maybe a fresh pair of eyes is want you need. Stay opened minded, instead of doing another 4 or 6 IUI, move on to IVF and give that a try if your coverage allows it. You still have options so weigh them out and do some research it might guide you to the next step your going to take.

Using IVF To Get Pregnant

Sunday, October 2, 2011

I'm sure many of you already know, I started a new job a few weeks ago and as a result I got new health insurance. This new insurance was the most important thing for me because my health insurance covers IVF. After having a big discussion with my boyfriend, we have decided to try IVF to get pregnant. I was really afraid of starting over because I really didn't want to go through a bunch of test like the HSG exam all over again.

The good thing is that the IVF clinic, accepts medical records from your previous DR. After speaking with them, I was told that since my HSG exam was only a few months old, they will accept that and I wont have to do it over gain. My plan is to first get my records from my previous DR then set up an appointment.

The only thing I am concerned about is my health insurance will only cover the IVF procedure 3 Times within the life time of  my health coverage under that account.

What that means is : If I do the IVF procedure 2 Times and both times FAIL ... Then I only have 1 last chance to try to get pregnant. If the last chance fail also, then my Health Insurance will no longer cover IVF procedure. The only way I can get around that is to switch jobs and hopefully the new job will have a health insurance to cover IVF. (Complicated I Know) but that's the process.

So right now I'm looking for a good IVF clinic :
  • That are In my Network for insurance Purpose
  • A clinic located around area

For anyone interested in IVF,  below is a video I found on youtube that shows the procedure. The name of the clinic that created the video is Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York . If you have Insurance that covers IVF procedures, make sure you do research on how much your insurance covers and for how many procedures. Personally I'm interested in http://www.rmany.com they are around my area and they seem very professional. I'm going to speak with them of course to get my own opinion about them. Hopefully I can find a good clinic, the procedure will work great "The First" time and I will have a little bundle of joy soon. (Smile)

Government Won't Pay To Create Life

Wednesday, March 9, 2011
Time after time, I have seen free clinics practically advertising "Free Abortions" to young adults that wants to "Get Rid" of their problem. And don't get me wrong, it's the woman's body and she can do what she wants with it including abortions. The one thing however that was alarming to me was Medicaid. For those of you that don't know Medicaid is free health insurance issued by the government, for people that can't afford insurance of their own or have low income. Back in the day I myself use to have Medicaid insurance. And it worked great, Medicaid will cover you in both health and dental procedures.

For a person with low income it truly is a blessing to have Medicaid. This insurance to me is wonderful for anyone who needs it except for one thing. The free insurance will quickly and easily pay for an abortion with out a second thought. However if you try to set up an appointment for a fertility doctor, fertility medication or IVF you will have to pay that out of your own pocket. And that's a couple of thousand dollars, which I'm sure if you have Medicaid you can't afford it. But do you know how much it cost for Medicaid to pay for an abortion if you want one ? The price is FREE, that's right completely free for any woman to have an abortion. No matter how many times a month or year it is, Medicaid will keep right on giving away FREE ABORTIONS.

Why can't they put that much care in to helping women make a life instead of destroying it ? Is it because the insurance is free therefore they feel that we can't afford to have a child anyway. If the government didn't make it so easy to have an abortion, then maybe women would be a lot more responsible. Procedures like IVF and fertility treatment can be expensive. Some Medicare companies won't even pay for IVF, but everyone pays for abortions. And if your insurance do not cover abortions then you can just get it for free some where else. Too bad there's no baby supermarket around where I can visit and just pick a child out that I want then take it home. The value of life clearly isn't as important as it should be, and hopefully one day that will change. One day free insurance can also cover the creation of life instead of just the removal of life.
